The Challenge
The State of the Behavioral Health Workforce (2024) report outlines the current supply and distribution of the behavioral health workforce in the United States. It also covers factors impacting the workforce and access to behavioral health care, such as:
- By 2037, the U.S. expects major shortages of addiction counselors, therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, and school counselors.
- As of August 2024, over 1/3 (122 million) of the U.S. population lives in a Mental Health Professional Shortage Area.
- Rural areas often lack behavioral health providers more than urban areas, making residents rely on their primary care providers.
- Most behavioral health workers are female and non-Hispanic White, which may not reflect the communities they serve.
- Inconsistent practice scopes, reimbursement issues, and clinician burnout limit the ability to provide high quality care.

Before joining a continuing education course, most people have a long list of questions. To help you learn more about what to expect during our CEU sessions, we have compiled a list of our most frequently asked questions.
Aliya Academy is Aliya Health Group’s free, online source for NAADAC continuing education credits in behavioral health care. We offer higher-level learning and credentialing in specific addiction treatment-related education. (NAADAC Provider #212491)
For a list of states and boards that may accept NAADAC-approved CEs, visit naadac.org/naadac-ce-approvals. Please check with the individual licensing body for their individual policies on NAADAC-approved CEs.
To receive CEU credit, attendees must join the webinar and complete the CE survey alongside the presentation. CE surveys need to be completed and submitted to receive a certificate. More information regarding the CE survey will be provided during the training and by email.
Aliya Academy is not permitted to record courses. To receive CE credit, you must participate in the live webinar.
